Landscape Alberta represents businesses in every sector of the industry – our ACTIVE category members include: landscape construction and maintenance contractors, landscape designers and consultants, arborists, tree nurseries, sod producers, garden centres and greenhouses.
We also welcome industry suppliers – our ASSOCIATE category members are businesses that provide equipment, products and services to our industry. Landscape Alberta also has an AFFILIATE category for municipalities, government departments, not for profits, and private or public golf courses. Our OUT OF PROVINCE category is for members of their respective provincial or state association that also wish to be members of Landscape Alberta. How Do I Join?
We're happy you're interested in membership and would love to have you as a part of our landscape business community. Your first step in applying for membership is deciding which category your company best fits into according to the descriptions below. We have five categories of membership: Active, Associate, Affiliate, Individual, and Out of Province. We also have categories for Sole Proprietorship, and Branch Listings. Membership Categories
Active
Partnership, Corporation or Proprietorship actively engaged in one or more of these business categories: Tree Nursery Producer, Landscape Construction and/or Maintenance Contractor, Lawn Care Provider, Arborist, Greenhouse Operator, Garden Centre Operator, Sod Producer, Irrigation Contractor, Landscape Designer, Horticultural Consultant.
Important: Active category applicants require the recommendation of two member “sponsors”. Landscape Alberta does not use a review committee to approve new members applying to join the Active category - rather, we ask applicants to secure the sponsorship (recommendation) of two current Active members. Alternatively, business references may be accepted, preferably from Associate (supplier) members—contact Member Services for details. A list of members can be viewed on the Landscape Alberta website under “Membership Directory”. It is important that you obtain permission from your sponsors prior to using their names in your application.
Note: Landscape Alberta is a member of the Canadian Nursery Landscape Association (CNLA). Landscape Alberta members in the Active category are automatically registered with the CNLA, and are granted access to the national discount programs. A portion of the membership fee for these categories is submitted to the CNLA. For discount program information see “Membership” section on Landscape Alberta website www.landscape-alberta.com.
Associate
Businesses supplying material, products and/or services to the Landscape/Horticultural industry (that fall outside the businesses eligible for Active category membership as described above).
Note: Landscape Alberta is a member of the Canadian Nursery Landscape Association (CNLA). Landscape Alberta members in the Associate category are automatically registered with the CNLA, and are granted access to the national discount programs. Affiliate
City departments, towns, counties, municipalities, Associations. Institutional departments providing landscape/horticultural services e.g., hospital, college/ university, research facility, zoo or theme park, etc. Private or public golf courses.
Note: Affiliate members are eligible for member pricing on Landscape Alberta event registrations, publications, etc., but are not eligible for the national discount programs offered through the Canadian Nursery Landscape Association.
Out of Province
Company must be a current member of home province (or state) industry association, with no business office located in Alberta.
Individual
An individual involved in the industry and not eligible for Active, Associate or Affiliate membership (i.e., not involved in any commercial activity). Individuals employed by non-member companies are not eligible for this category of membership. Some restrictions apply to this category—contact Member Services for further information.
Note: Individual members are eligible for member pricing on Landscape Alberta event registrations, publications, etc., but are not eligible for the national discount programs offered through the Canadian Nursery Landscape Association.
